Doe Deere whose real name is Xenia Vorotova is the founder and CEO of Lime Crime cosmetics. The queen of unicorns, as many know her, dedicates herself to creating magical, colorful, vegan, cruelty-free certified cosmetics. She believes that beauty should make you happy and sets about making sure her customers feel so.
This has made Lime Crime cosmetics one of the most prominent beauty businesses on the globe. Born in June 1981 in Izhevsk Russia, she was raised in New York City. She studied fashion design at the New York Institute of technology. She speaks both Russian and English as a result.
In 2004 she created an account on eBay ‘limecrime’ for her new DIY fashion line. When she modeled her designs for the website, she decided her whole look should represent the brand and this required colorful makeup mostly. This is when she found out that bright colors were hard to come by and was inspired to create a make-up brand.
She created Lime Crime Cosmetics in 2008 and was one of the earliest female entrepreneurs to launch her business online successfully. She values uniqueness and has incorporated this into cosmetics. She makes sure that what they are providing is something no one else has. Doe loves animals.
She has made sure her company produces products without any testing being done on animals. In fact, she was pleased when her business finally took off, and she could support animal rescue activities through charities.
She is so thorough that before a product is announced to the market, she and her team first try it on themselves. Her thoroughness enabled her to get her to get her first customers through a blog she used to post make up videos. Today she has built such a rapport with her fans that her Instagram alone has over 400,000 followers!
Her favorite quote is ‘always be yourself unless you can be a unicorn- then always be a unicorn!’
As for the future, she keeps dreaming bigger and indulging in new creative fantasies every day.
