Igor Cornelsen is one of Brazil’s top investment bankers as well as a renowned consultant for providing advice on making smart long term investments, even in today’s unpredictable stock market. He has managed some of the biggest banking institutions in the world and is known worldwide for his investment and managerial skills. During the recession of 2016 in Brazil, Igor Cornelsen managed to get through without facing any financial difficulty whatsoever. He still believes that Brazil is an excellent choice for worldwide investors to invest in. His economic toughness and superior experience in the financial sector makes him a favorite among Brazil’s top investors.

Cornelsen was born in Curitiba, Brazil on the 4th of November, 1947. As a child, he had always dreamed of becoming a renowned engineer. Once he was of college age, he began his studying at Federal University of Paraná so that he may see his dream of being an engineer come to fruition. As it happens, after two years of studies in engineering, he changed his major to economics. The admissions process for the engineering school at Federal University of Paraná was extremely competitive and is why he was proud to at least be a part of it. To him, just being a part of the engineering college was a success but he was ready for a change. In 1970, Igor Cornelsen earned his degree in economics.

After graduating with his economics degree, Cornelsen began to work at Multibanco as an investment banker. At the time, Multibanco offered a stable investment opportunity. It didn’t take much time for him to gain prominence at Multibanco. He was given the title of “best investment banker” among his peers in 1974. That same year, Igor Cornelsen was given a promotion and appointed to being on the board of directors for the bank. Only two years later he was promoted to executive director where he remained so until two years after that when Multibanco was acquired by Bank of America. Though Bank of America wanted Cornelsen to continue working for them, he decided to pursue other opportunities and challenges better suited to meet his goals.

Later, he became a part of Unibanco, a Brazilian investment company with a high rate of success. He was a part of this company until 1985 when inflation was rising at an extremely high rate. After working for companies like London Merchant Bank, Cornelsen later founded Bainbridge Investment, Inc., stationed in the Bahamas. To this day, he is still with Bainbridge. His job is to provide leadership and to identify and follow all investment plans. Despite him working for Bainbridge, Cornelsen still provides advice and insight to potential investors. American companies such as Burger King are among the prominent companies who seek the services of Bainbridge.

Without bias, Cornelsen continues to proclaim that investors must invest more in rising markets like those of Brazil or China. He is an excellent source of advice when it comes to investing in Brazil and is respected as such throughout the Brazilian investment community. He also advises that potential investors should invest in a favorable exchange rate. This, according to him, can make or break an investor. He is certainly not selfish with his investment advice and will sometimes freely reveal his investment secrets in front of an audience at a seminar or in a live interview.
